Now, in the World Heritage city of Bath you can enjoy Britain’s only natural thermal waters, as the Celts & Romans did over 2,000 years ago. Additionally, you can refresh your senses in the Wellness Suite and choose from over 40 spa treatments and packages.
Royal Bath – Main Spa
The New Royal Bath is a fusion of glass, stone, light and water. This creates a special setting in which to enjoy a Thermae Welcome (a 2-hour spa session and use of towel, robe & slippers). Relax in two spectacular baths, fed by the naturally warm, mineral-rich waters and enjoy our multi-sensory Wellness Suite.
Spa Visitor Centre
The free Spa Visitor Centre portrays the colourful role which the Spa has played in the social and cultural history of Bath.
Interactive displays, archive footage and exhibits unfold the story from the legendary founding of Bath through Roman, Saxon, Elizabethan and Georgian times to the recent revival of the Spa. A 30-minute audio tour provides a fascinating description of the spa quarter and the evolution of the buildings surrounding the hot springs. It is available in English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish & Dutch.
We also have a touch screen providing a more in-depth look at the context of the Spa in the city of Bath, how the Spa changed through the ages and facts on our famous water. We are also fortunate to have some original, historical artefacts from the Roman Baths Museum; the remains of the 18th century Melfort cross from the Cross Bath and an original plug from the Hot Bath.
