There’s a stately feel to Go Ape Temple Newsam, despite being situated just four miles from the centre of Leeds. Based in estate grounds with a 500-year-old country mansion and beautiful woodlands, you’ll feel like Lord and Lady.

Welcome to our first high ropes experience in West Yorkshire and a triple whammy of aerial adventures. Muster your courage and summon your strength for this Challenge course! You’ll need it for the Tarzan Swing, tree-to-tree zips and the free-falling Plummet. Head over to the Treetop Adventure+ if you’re finding your tree climbing feet. This course offers variety and choice, so you get to decide how far out of your comfort zone you’re willing to step. And little explorers can’t go wrong on the Adventure course – the perfect introduction to tree-to-tree crossings and brilliant zips.

Treetop Challenge

Are you unwilling to compromise on the ultimate experience? Then this feat of endurance and skill is perfect if you’re brave enough and tall enough (minimum 1.4m). With 15-metre-high platforms, you’ll need to engage both your mind and body as you scale the tree to tree crossings that make up this high ropes course. Our Go Ape Temple Newsam 11-metre Plummet is not for the fainthearted, but it is the quickest way back down to earth! If we said some thrill-seekers use this as a bungee warm-up, we think you’ll get the picture!

Treetop Adventure+

Treetop Adventure+ is for anyone over 1.2 metres, ideal for children over 6 as a more challenging treetop trek with higher platforms and longer zips. First, conquer the 3 Treetop Adventure loops and then go higher and further into the forest on trickier crossings for 2 extra loops and the full Treetop Adventure+ experience.

Treetop Adventure

Elevate your experiences to new heights with Temple Newsam’s Tree Top Adventure. There’s no minimum age limit with this high ropes course so with a buildable feature that allows you to custom-make your experience, there’s something for groups of friends and families alike (as long as you’re over 1m tall). Whether it’s the full adventure or a cherry-picked experience you can choose your own aerial route. Opt to mix and match crossings from the Flying Carpet to the Tibetian Bridge, before finally taking your breath away with a zip wire plummet from the tops of the trees to the forest floor.

When you’re done, slip the harness off and head over to the Manor House, a truly impressive Tudor-Jacobean mansion described as one of the best stately homes in Britain.

Sit back and enjoy a picnic in the lakeside garden or the Georgian walled garden. Alternatively, head over to the Tea Rooms for a bite to eat. If you’re partial to a bit of shopping, there’s also a gift shop.

Temple Newsam is also home to an award-winning rare breed conservation farm which is one of the best-loved family attractions in Leeds.
