The Everyman

Situated between the two cathedrals on Hope Street, the Everyman theatre re-opened in March 2014 to great acclaim from audiences and critics, winning the RIBA Stirling Prize for architecture.

Brilliant, forward-thinking theatre that responds to its time and place
Our mission is to dazzle and inspire, reflect the aspirations and concerns of our audiences and fuel civic pride. In our theatres, communities, schools and outside Liverpool – we hope to ignite the imagination and explore what it is to be human.

Across both venues we create and receive forward thinking theatre chosen especially for you. Our award-winning youth arts programme, Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP), is integrated into every aspect of our work and includes traineeships in producing, technical theatre, directing and acting.

The Playhouse

Found beneath the Radio City tower in Williamson Square, the Playhouse has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building for both its old 19th century auditorium and 20th century front of house extension.

Seating 677 across three levels in a traditional proscenium arch setting, it is a surprisingly intimate theatre. As well as the main stage, the upstairs Studio serves as a performance space and rehearsal room.
